CBM had to change the name "PET" because Philips was producing a 96 kB RAM System called the "Programm-Entwicklungs-Terminal", and had rights to the acronym "PET". In Europe CBM rebatched the Pet 2001 to CBM 3001 series, so this CBM 3008 is acually a Pet 2001N-8 with extend keyboard.
